The Antarctic Mat is a unique piece of kit with a multitude of uses. Primarily, it is a sleeping mat filled with sleeping bag insulation. It is much more adaptable than a self-inflating or rolling mat because the Antarctic mat uses insulation, so you can fold or squash into different configurations like in a hammock or a tight floor space. It is also very durable and easy to repair.
Hook and loop (Velcro like) strip around the edge means you can use it as a poncho around your shoulders, wrap it round yourself for extra insulation when sitting down, or combine two into an emergency sleeping bag or double layered mat.
